Wendy Petersen
Hello!  My name is Wendy Petersen and I teach art to grades 1-4 at Webster.

When I was in elementary school, I didn't care much about art.  It wasn't until high school that I really found my niche.  By the time I was off to college at the University of Wisconsin- Madison I was sure I wanted to be an artist full time, but I thought it was a good idea to become licensed to teach art "just in case."

For a year I worked at a substitute teacher in Madison, then would race off to the ceramics studio on my bike to make artwork.  I quickly

found that I loved teaching kids as much as I loved making art.  I packed up my art supplies and moved to Minneapolis to take a
teaching position through AmeriCorps, and eventually found my way to Webster!

I love teaching art- I believe it gives children the chance to reflect and react to their world in a truly meaningful way.  Sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words!

Please call me or email if you have questions about art at Webster.  Thanks!

Visit the Art webpage.

I am generally available during this time: 8:05-8:30 am and I am generally not at Webster in the afternoons.
